The New York State Defenders Association Immigrant Defense Project has made available various practice advisories and background materials pertaining to the felony simple possession issue currently before the Supreme Court in Lopez v. Gonzalez and Toledo-Flores v. United States. One of the practice advisories is geared towards those representing aliens who have such a prior conviction and who are charged with illegal reentry in federal court.
